No heat and pressure in a tall bath rad?

I have installed a new rad in the bathroom, when I first let the water back into the system the rad bleeds air all the way to the top with pressure then after a few minutes it only feels warm at the bottom and when i try to bleed the rad there is no pressure to push out the air.

you dont say what boiler ie, combi/system.
first thoughs, after you bled rad did you top up the system too 1-1.5bar? (combi or sealed system) .
is the header tank topping up and any valves you closed re-openned (vented system)
