how to fill an old key hole in a stripped pine door?

I need to fill the hole with pine so it can be stained like the rest of the door. I notice that there are previous repairs which taketheform of a circular pine implant. How is the latter done.

Use a hole saw ( it attatches to your drill ) to cut a piece of pine to fit the hole. Glue it and sand it.
