When I turn my mp3 player on It just says starting?

When I turn my mp3 player on It just says starting I have tryed leaving it connecte to the computer for a hour but nothing changes it still says starting and I can't play songs or do anythinbg else.

You'll need to be specific with the make and model. Most every player has a different chipset.
