How can I fix my Toshiba 57H81 power led blinking?

After 5 years my Toshiba 57H81 suddenly will not turn on and the power LED will just blink when you turn on the power. No picture or screen light comes on.

I have the same problem. I had a Toshiba Autourized repair man take the guts of my T.V. away today and he told me that it was probably the picture tube. I have only had mine since Sept/05 so the picture tube is still under warranty for me. He said that the cost of a new picture tube would run around $400 to $500.00 plus $150.00 for labour costs. He also told me that the picture tube is suppose to last 10-15 years(depending on use). Just as a note, DLP televisions have lamps in them that need to be replaced around every 3-4000 hours at a $300-400 replacement cost. Your CRT is still a way better deal than to up-grade and essentially repay your television in replacement bulb bills.
