what causes a Kenmore washer 90 + series not to drain?

My Kenmore 90+ series washer will fill with water, run an entire wash cycle, but will just stop after the wash cycle is over then will not drain or advance to rinse. What is causing this to happen and how can I fix it?

I have the same problem with this washer.
Mine will spin but not empty the water.
(pump has been replaced but did not fix the problem)

Check the lid switch; if it is defective, the washer won't spin or drain but will fill and agitate.
