I have avery little used new RV62 DVD Player, when turned on it displays fault code 498 and will not run but has power.[panasonic] what is this code and how do i rectify it . ??
If you can help i would be greatful.

This is 2002 model? If by chance you still have any sort of warranty on it, it needs to be returned to a Panasonic dealer for repair asap.

Often means that the soldering to the Flash ROM, IC3080 needs to be reflowed.

However, if reflowing the solder is unsuccessful a replacement decoder pcb is required, which is approx £120.00 outside or warranty period, plus labour costs on top.
