My Kenmore 80 series washer doesn't agitate nor spin?

As already described, I have a Kenmore 80 series, dual action agitator, top loader model 110.26801690, serial no. CF4613408. My washer suddenly quit agitating. It worked fine the day before and today, no agaitating or spinning. It fills with water and drains fine during the rinse cycles, but when engaged in the wash cycle, a loud clicking sound is observed coming from the base of the washer. It appears to be a sort of clicking sound of sorts. Following your online instructions, I inspected the agitator shaft for worn grooves or rust and it seems fine. During the spin cycle, the tub doesn't spin either, nevertheless, I can hear the motor turning. Any idea what's going on here?

I have a model 110.26892690 Series 80 and discovered that the teeth on the motor coupling (which are plastic) broke off and the rubber bushing had seen better days since our purchase in 1999. That being said this should be a cheap repair. I will let you know what the parts cost...

This isn't an answer but I am having the same problem. I can get the top of the agitator to move manually but the base seems to be stuck.
