music recorded on cdrw disc on computer won't play on cd player?

my daughter has recorded music off the computer onto a cd-rw disc, but her radio-cassette/cd player won't play it. This is the first time she has used a cd-rw disc, previously she used cdr discs which of course can only be used for one recording. Is the problem with the player which is about 5 yrs old, or is it to do with the discs themselves. They will play back on the computer though.
Thanks.

Just in case, was the disc burnt as an AUDIO disc? And not a Data disc? Just checking, as know a few friends who has done that. :) Silly i know but it happens.

I would say the problem is with your daughters cd player. 5 years is a little to old to be playing cd-rw's. That feature is only available on more recent machine's. Perhaps you know someone with a newer cd player which you could try, then you'd know for sure!

Maybe they have to be 'finalised'.
