my alba 14" Dvd/Tv Combo keeps saying wrong disk when I put a DvD in but it will play a CD with no problems.

I guess that you have a UK TV somewhere other than the UK and do not get any sound?

I can only suggest that you look for somewhere in the menu system for a country that you know supports B/G.
