My background is stuck on the defualt color?

My background is stuck on the defualt color. when i choose a pic to use as the background, it only shows up when i start up my comp. i've tryed everything i can think about save calling custumer support and crashing it. what should i do?

Sounds like youre running Win2000 ? Could be active/non active desktop cure. Right click on desktop and experiment by changing background in "active" and "non active" desktop options.
