PILOT LIGHT IS PRESENT BUT NOT IGNITING THE GAS WHEN I TURN ON THE TAPS OR HEATING. PRESSURE DROPPED BUT IS NOW OK BOILER IS ABOUT 20 YEARS PLUS OLD BUT WAS WORKING FINE UNTIL MONDAY

is the pump running when you turn on heat or water? if yes the boiler is probably air locked and needs to have the air removed from the main heat exchanger. to do this you have to gain access to the combustion chamber and i would reccomend you call someone in. if the pump isn't running it may have tripped the overheat stat. this is situated on the right hand side of the main control box to the rear about two inches down from the top. it is covered by a thin rubber grommet. just press the rubber cover and it should click.
