Check the webcam manufacturer's website for Vista Help. You can either force it to use the XP driver (if you have the .inf and .sys files etc) It may be that Vista has a compatible driver built in you can use (same chipset as your webcam). I had this same prob with a HP Printer. HP said they were not supporting it with Vista and offered no help. I used a different model that was already in vista's inbuilt drivers. It took a bit of experimenting selecting the correct driver but it can be worth it. Don't blame Microsoft - 3rd party hard and software vendors have had over 12months since the Beta releases to get their drivers compliant. It is also happening with WIndows 2003 R2, Longhorn and their replacmements (codename 7)
