Baxi 105E?

When I turn on the hot water the boiler lights up but after about a minute it shuts down and then relights when the water cools and cycles like this all the time. A plumber has changed the circuit board changed the sensors on the hot water and the heating, cleaned the secondary heat exchanger, changed the air pressure switch but still no difference. He phoned Baxi and they said it was the sensor but its not. Any ideas.

I have a baxi 105e which has been giving us hot water problems for a while, the boiler starts, heats up briefly then stops again, sometimes proving difficult to get running again with turning the tap on and off.
I know what the problem is,the switch ,which i believe to be the water flow switch (Domestic hot water flow switch) operates perfectly well when you wiggle the connecting lead or hold it firmly in a certain position,so that may answer a lot of peoples questions,my biggest problem now is locating a new lead and plug or maybe a new flow switch

The boiler shows that the water temperature is at 70 degrees when not in use. When using the central heating, the dial has to be turned till it is past the 70 degree mark before the heating will work. A new board and a diaphram have been fitted.

Can anyone help - I have a Baxi 105e (not instant) when I run the HW tap the boiler fires up reaches 60 and then shuts down for approx 5-10 seconds fires back up again and the cycle repeats. This happens intermittently and now more often than not and there are no flashing LEDs. When the CH is on the HW is constant, for the time been. Can anyone shine a little light please.

Kind regards,

Its not a Baxi instant. I have run the hot water for a considerable time and the central heating pipes stay cold. The burner lights for 15 seconds then goes out for 25 seconds. It cycles almost to the second.

I don't know why the other respondant is asking about the clock. It has nothing to do with the hot water.
Check that the hot water flow switch is not dropping out while the tap is running. It's unlikely but worth looking at. With the central heating off and cold, run the hot water. Feel the two large pipes (outside left and right as you look at the boiler)
These are the flow and return pipes to the central heating
they should not get hot when you run the hot water(maybe a little warm if you run it for a while but not hot)
If they are getting hot then your divertor valve may be faulty and allowing heat to pass away into the pipework and some of the closer rads. This can cause the boiler to short cycle.
Just as an after thought make sure that your boiler is a 105e not a 105e instant. If its the instant it will be the diapragm in the water flow switch..

Yes the timer is a lifestyle model No LP111 which controls the central heating and it is remote from the boiler

Dave Wallace, April 2007
do you have a timer controling the boiler...and if so what type...ta
