I have an old style PS2 (Blue edition) and it works fine and runs games perfectly with one problem... it just shows a blank screen. I know the games are playing fine as the sound works, as does button response. I have tried with a multitude of cables and wondering if anyone could shed some light on this.

If your warranty is void, you could try and open it up and see if any of the pins from the AV cable have come loose. If you find any loose or broken pins and you trust yourself with a soldering iron try and reconnect it.
