how to replace upvc window locks?

how can i replace upvc window locks - the keys to the windows are lost - is it similar to replacing a upvc door barrel where you unscrew the screw at the edge of the door, pop it out and then re-insert (and align) a new lock?

Depending on the make of window, there are usually a couple of vanity plates on either side of the lock/handle.
These pop off easily with a small screwdriver or knife.
That should reveal 2 screws holding the handle/lock mechanism.
