magnavox mpd850 portable dvd player?

a message "no disc" comes up when trying to load a dvd. previously it worked fine. why is it not recognizing the dvd disc?

Don't wipe your laser lens with a cotton swab!!! Instead go out and purchase a DVD Laser lens cleaning disk and use that.

My portable dvd player kept giving the message "wrong disc". How I fixed it was to clean the laser lense. Dip a cotton bud in a little alcohol (we used Stolichnaya vodka) and gently (v. gently!) clean the laser lense.
