how do i change the size of my hard drive?

i recently added an 80g hard drive to my computor, but its only picking it up as 31.50g. how can i get the comp to recognise its proper size. i've even tried uninstalling it and letting the comp find it again, but needless to say, this didn't work

Sounds like you have an older computer that has a 32 gigabite limit for hard drives, you can add a larger hard drive but your motherboards BIOS (Basic InputOutput System)can only see 32 gigs of it. You need to look up your brand namebrand/model of your computer or motherboard and download an update for your BIOS. They will have instructions on how to "flash" the BIOS.
