I have just bought an HDD Player, HD-02 Ver2.3 and it doesn't appear to be working. I have windows Vista, there is an 80Gb IDE hard drive attached to it and I have read the manual but still can't see it on my computer and am unable to format it. HELP!!

I had the same issue. I had a spare USB cable (for my digital camera) and when I used that instead of the USB cable that came packed with the HHD the computer recognized the new hardware. Then was piece of cake to format it:
Right on My Computer, Manage, Disk Management and the rest should be common sense.

Now I have issues making this player work on the TV

You have to format the hdd the old fashioned way.... in dos so u need a win98 pc to do that..
