I bought the same model from Argos 2 years ago. 7 months after I bought it the compressor stopped working (the same thing as Steve Riley) the door/s had not been left open for too long it stopped working at night while we were sleeping. Argos told me I had to contact BEKO and get it fixed under the guarantee. A new compressor was fitted and all was fine until last week, when I woke in the night to find my flat was full of fumes. I could tell the fumes were coming from the fridge freezer so my husband pulled it out to check the back, we found that a part which was connected to the compressor had melted and was burnt. Who knows what would have happened if I hadn't needed the loo in the night, would it have eventually caught fire? it took many hours to get rid of the fumes from our flat and my husband felt unwell for a while. I have been advised to seek compensation by Consumer Direct, also they said they would pass it on to Trading Standards although there is no guarantee they will do anything.
I will never buy anything manufactured by BEKO again.
