How can I fix our microwave, an AEG Micromat 153E?

Our microwave has suddenly stopped working. The light stays on when the door is closed.

It seems to me that the door closed sensor is not registering that the door is closed.

Any ideas?

had the same problem with micromat 153. one of the door sensors had lost contact with the circuit board. welded the damn thing to the board and voila!!!! word of caution, get rid of a stored charge in the capacitor otherwise you will fry/cook yourself or get an expert to help you.

That sounds like you've got a door switch fault. They might have moved out of position, or maybe one of them is stuck.

With the light staying on, it means that it still thinks the door is open. Check your switches inside!!
