Slvania Model SSC192 says EJECT=T when turned on, turns off seconds later?

The Slvania SSC192 TV/VCR combo says "EJECT=T" when I turn it on then turns off seconds later. There is no tape in the VCR and I can't figure out why it does this.

ive had this problem a couple of times (tv/vcr combos are cheap) and just had it happen a little bit ago, i have a Symphonic but the same symptomes. just try unpluging it for about 30 min and it will kick the tape right out... er it should, works for me everytime, else try the above solution.

good luck.

The cam responsible for ejecting the tape is stuck. Unplug the unit, unscrew the back from the front, and loosen the tape from the drum on the right side.

On the left side, find the tiny motor on a pulley that turns the giant white gear-cam. There should be a small wheel on the pulley; rotate it gently with your finger until the tape ejects.
