My Candy Aquaviva 1300 washing machine does not heat up. I have checked the hot water supply and that is ok so is it the thermostat and if so how do i fix it?

Disconnect from the mains and remove the back cover. Between the motor and drum pulley you should see the back of the heating element fixed to the plastic tub - check between the two terminals for continuity. Assuming that is fine, then the thermostat is also bolted to the tub, near to the element and again you should check that for continuity.
