I have a blue tracing around all obejects in picutre..what is it?

We began to watch a DVD movie last nigtht and approximately 5 minutes into the movie noticed the picture had had a blue trace around it. At first we thought it was the movie, but it wasn't. It's coming from the screen.

I don't have enough information to accurately answer your question, but I'd be willing to bet that your blue crt is out of alignment.

Your widescreen has 3 tubes- one for green, one for blue, and one for red. All 3 of these tubes have to be aimed at exactly the same point at exactly the same time to create the images you see onscreen (this is what I mean by convergence). If the aim of any (or all) of these tubes is even SLIGHTLY off then you get the "shadow" or "ghost image" effect.

You can try to access the customer convergence adjustment (which should be in your menu) and try to adjust the blue convergence; if that doesn't do anything then you may have a more serious problem, and will have to get it serviced by a qualified technician. Hopefully that isn't the case.

Try the customer convergence first, and drop me an e-mail if you have any luck (Tech10171968@yahoo.com).
