How can i fix a leaking shower, Triton T80si?

The shower starting leaking from the shower head yesterday after i finished showering. This had happened before a few times and i found that turning it on and off a few times seems to stop it, however, this time it wont stop dripping.
I disconnecting the flexible tube from the bottom of the unit and it was dripping from there.
Is this something i can repair myself? i don't know much about it and i'm not keen on plumbing repairs but if it's the solenoid valve or something and it's simple to replace i'd have a go.
If it is the solenoid valve could it be sticking and if so is there any way of encouraging it to function properly without replacing it?
Maybe it's not the solenoid! I'd appreciate your advice

I had a drip from inside the shower unit, it was from one of the unused inlets and it didn't have the correct plugs fitted.

if the leak is between the cover on the top of the stabiliser valve 82600810, you will need to take the lid off by removing the 4 screws on top, clean rubber diaphragm inside then get on a lathe and machine a 2mm o ring groove into the round bit of the lid and fit an o ring. works absolutely perfect. glues and silicons won't work because of the type of plastic it is made from.

If water gushes out of the small plastic tube at the bottom of the unit next to the hose it may indeed be that there is either a blocked sprayhead or twisted flexible hose. If you remove this then the water often stops coming out of this small tube. However, if the tube is in good condition or new it is probable that the Pressure Release Valve has "popped" an a new one is needed. This can be obtained on line and changed in a few minutes and is Triton 82800450

Alan, how did you get on? Did you replace the solenoid, if so, where did you get it from?

Mike T, November 2008
you need a new solenoid

If you get water dripping from a small tube at the bottom shower and not from the shower head it could be pressure relief device (PRD) this activates when there is either a blocked sprayhead or twisted flexible hose
