How often should you flush central heating system?

I am told that the fluid in my central heating system is black and system needs a flush. It was last flushed 4 years ago.

Shoud systems be flushed on regular interval or only when they turn black etc?

is the water just black or is it black and full of sludge ?
when you say flushed was that just drained and refilled or was it powerflushed with a pump ?
if you just drain and refill that will never clean it fully because your not removing all the muck that gone hard in the bottom of rads etc.

if its powerflushed with the right chemicals it shouldn't need doing again, and inhibitor added to the system.

do you find your blowing radiators and getting restricted flow and radiators not heating fully at the bottom ?

we always powerflush systems that are full of sludge and not working to there full, but never have to go back years later and do again.

go to www.kamco.co.uk this will tell you all about flushing the system.

beware there is a lot of people that will try to con you into a flush because its an easy days money.
