Creda washer won't spin?

I have a Creda CWA242 117064E washing machine that won't spin. It seems to go through the cycle, but spinning never happens. No one in my area will repair this brand. Can anyone suggest troubleshooting strategy to identify the problem so I can order the part and fix it myself?

Aah - the Creda Eco Wash CWA 242. I purchased this machine in mid 1995, just as the British company began to export them to America. Nothing but problems. First, the tub vibrated off the mounting, requiring a complete replacment of the whole washer. Four years later, the motor control unit burned out, and the machine wouldn't spin. Then the pump jammed. And then the main bearing froze. Around 2000, Creda shut down its American operation (which was out of Phoenix, Arizona), and I could no longer get parts here. I ordered a set of brushes for the motor from them in Britain, and then decided that the washer was a losing proposition.

Creda longer has any presence in the USA, so all parts must be purchased in Britain. They are willing to ship parts here. Do an internet search for Ace Domestic Appliance Spare Parts in the UK.

Best of luck ... I'm staying away from Creda in the future.

Since there are no repair people for Creda's, ours also stopped going back and forth. If the circuit board, is their a diagram of it? Is there a way to jump the board and make the machine go in only one directions?

Your advise would be appreciated. EE here!

The folks at Adco in Scottsdale, AZ are great. They are at http://www.adcoservice.com/ and 800-767-3436. They've diagnosed the problem over the phone, sent me parts and walked me through DIY install onthe phone.
