I have Hoover tumble dryer TV630. The filter light has come on?

and there is no heat. The filter is clean and empty. Please can you help.
Mrs Sheila Greenall, February 2005
I too have one of these machines and it all worked fine for years. Then, like yourself the light kept coming on.

I got it fixed and it was the thermal risistor on the back of the machine which was the problem. Normally blows if you keep opening the door whilst the machine is working and not letting it cool down after doing the whle drying cycle.

I was told that it was due to an overheated and blown thermostat of the thermal risitor which is underneath the protruding metal panel on the back of this machine.

If you unscrew this you will find it on the top of the heating elements for the machine and if this does not work then the heating coils underneath will not warm up meaning no warm air going into the drum and only cold air being blown out of the filter.

Either have someone come round to fix it or take it into shop. Best phone up and describe problem 1st if you have somebody come round. That way you do not get charged lots of money just for a very cheap fixing.
