kenmore series 80 cabinet removal?

I have a Kenmore series 80 washer direct drive. it need a motor coupler replace but I can not get the cabinet off. the control panel does not have two screws like all the web info suggests. the control panel looks to be one piece with the cabinet.

I imagine youhave it figured out by now but just in case....on each side of the control panel there are plastic end caps. These must be removed. They just snap on and off. Once you get them off you will see the screws that secure the control panel down in place. Remove each screw...rather long....about an inch or so...once these are off you can just flip the lid backwards although you may have to disconnect an electrical plug that is attached to the washing machine body.

i just did some repair work on my 80 series kenmore washer(about 10 yrs old). there were 2 screws on each end of the control panel. i removed them and lifted the control panel up and tied it off temporarily. i then removed two spring clips on each end of the exposed top of the machine. i also disconnected the lid switch. then the whole front of the machine comes forward for complete removal. it was a cinch to remove the pump/motor to get to the drive coupler and transmission/clutch.
