How do I splice an audio cassette tape?

The tape in an audio cassette broke. How do I splice it, so that I can play the tape safely? The cassette is screwed shut, so I can easily get into it.

Take the tape were its broke, make sure you cut any crinkled parts out so it wont get ate by your tape player. Next cut 2 pieces of scotch tape the exact width of the tape. Put the 2 ends perfectly inline & put 1 piece of scotch tape on one side then put the other piece of scotch tape on the other side. If you need to take a razor blade to cut the scotch tape so it is the exact width of the cassette tape, that should do it Hope this helps you
