There is no sound or picture on my hd television. I can set it up for normal tv but want to use the hd?

In order to use HD you need an HD source like a set top box (I think in the UK only Sky can supply these) or an HD DVD player.

In the UK ordinary TV (analogue) and Freeview (digital) do not broadcast in HD,
