Brain you have provided very few details to what you have actually tried except for batteries. You need to find if it is the TV or remote that is causing the bother to be able to go any further. The simplest way is to do this is to try switching on the TV using some of the switches on the set itself such as the programme/channel up or down and if this brings on the TV it is the remote at fault (which at the minute I think is the likely problem). If the TV does not work you need to take it to a qualified technician. I'm sugesting this because there are high voltage levels inside the set and you could have a nasty accident. At 240VAC 20ma will kill you. On to the remote. This would seem the likely cause of the problem. Try making sure the batteries are in the correct way round. If they are there is connection fault somewhere at the spring or plate. These need to be checked too and metered to check voltage is leaving going to the board, probably 3VDC. If voltage is leaving before you go into the guts of the board check the underside of the buttons where they contact the board and check there is no dirt or stickiness there between the surfaces. This all needs to be squeaky clean no dirt whatsoever. Dirt from your fingers and from food can build up beneath the surface and stop the buttons form working. If the fault is in the components of the PCB I suggest you take it to someone who knows what they are doing. There could be a dry joint caused by bad solder or a drink of some nature may have been spilled around it and caused a fault. With a board fault a professional needs to look at it. I hope that this explanation helps.
