How can I make my computer recognise my Sony MP3?

I have a Sony NW-E003F MP3 player that was working fine up until now. Everytime I plug it into a USB port on the back of my laptop, the display on the MP3 displays 'USB connect' for a few seconds, then disappears. Now i can't transfer files to my MP3, I can only charge it. I tried re-installing my drivers over and over again and nothing seems to be working. Please help!

You may want to try deleting your USB drivers for your PC (if this is a PC). Right click "My Computer"---> Properties--->Hardware--->Device Manager. Remove all mentions of USB (listed as Universal Serial Bus controllers).... restart computer--- this will reload the computers USB drivers.
