I have a Fisher DD350 tape deck, which until recently was working perfectly.

It has developed a problem that when you press play, the tape starts to play, but then after about 5-10 seconds, it stops playing, as if someone has pressed the stop button.

Can you suggest a way to stop this annoying thing happening, so i would once again be able to enjoy using this piece of equipment.

Any info or suggestions you may be able to offer would be much appreciated.

did you try other tapes ? sounds like the tape might be tight or it could use a new belt . Do yourself a favor and don't have it repaired , it cost more to do that then it would to just go out and buy a new one. It's older technology all the same.
