how do i cut coving at the proper angles?

I cannot seem to cut the proper angles on my gyproc coving, what way should they go into the angle cutter

Do your 45 angle cut with the wall side at the bottom and side of mitre box. Then take coving out and cut the cut edge at 45 degree with saw so it is slightly point edge and you find it will fit even if the wall are not true.

You need to imagine the bottom of the mitre block is the ceiling, and the side of the block is the wall. Lay the coving in that way then cut your angle.

You have to keep it the same way up as it would be when it is on the ceiling if you are cutting it from the top to get a 45deg angle,or lay it on its back(the wall side) if you are using a chop saw with the blade set at 45deg from the verticle.

hi tommy,
heres what to do.
lay the coving. in to your miter block. lay it in with back two edges flat against the miter block, then cut with a hand saw at the 45. to do the other side keep in the block and cut it at other 45 angel.
