how do i play a disc that some one has recorded for me please?

i put a cd in my hard drive and it will not play what do i have to do please. my

As answers above, to check if anything is on the CD..

Click Start
Then Run
Then enter either D: or E: then hit enter

This will bring up whatever there is on the CD/DVD, you can then either double click the items to see if they will play.

I would right-click the CD Drive in Windows Explorer and select 'Explore'. Then see what file extensions the files have.

This could be three things -

The disc has not been finalised which can cause issues
The files are in an unrecognised format
Autoplay is not enabled for the drive

place disc in cd rom, goto my computer, check drive has recognized 1 cd, 2 found files eg music files.
if recognized files will appear as eg, windows media player files or wotever u have as music player ie nero, real player,etc click on a file it should then open and play. if not ur cd rom may be faulty, or u have not music player software, which would be very unusual indeed , wotever ur o/s media player is embedded into sytem assuming it is a windows system. u don't say how cd u wish to play was copied or indeed if original cd wotever the above applies.
