Hotpoint WMM53 - Not Draining sufficiently, how to clean filter/pump?

Hi. We tried to wash a small wool rug on the wool cycle. I think this was a bad idea! The machine got half-way through the cycle and then I heard water coming from it. It was flooding from the washer drawer so I stopped the machine. I opened the back up and managed to manually pump out some of the water. It is now washing etc but the clothes are coming our way too wet so it obviously isn't draining sufficiently. Can anyone help?

turn appliance off. around the back where the grey hose comes out is a service cover with 2/3 screws around edge remove these. then looking straight ahead you will see a black hose coming from base of drum and a large clip going around it loose this off and remove hose putting towel on floor to catch any water and inside the hose is your filter clean and replace following instructions in reverse.
