I want to enclose my ac unit outside it faces the north a get full sun all day i live in alabama. can I enclose it to also hide it. I no I need to stay at least 2ft on the 3 sides can you do any thing else to help it from running all the time. It just seems like it working overtime in full sun. thanks
You could be causeing more problems .If your unit is low on freon it will run more. You low side pressure if the out side temp is 90 Degree the low side sould be 80 psi. If it is 70 are lower you are low of freon. If the large line freezes up you are low . You need to clean the outside unit with soap and water. Plus if you don't change your air filter often the a-coil can be impact with dust. and dirt.Your blower squirrel cage need to be clean. BY removing it and wash it good to increase your air flow. Just idea's to think about. good luck

Check with a local contractor that you trust and find out if the unit is sized right, it might just be old. Do not block off unit, unless you want problems.
