MITAC MIO 168 GPS DIGIWALKER?

The charge connector has broken off inside my MIO 168 do i need to solder it back in place or will it just "click" back.

Hi,
I have just replaced the connector on my unit, it does need resoldering. I used a small tiped iron and a magnifying lens.It is quite an intricate operation.Once replaced I applied a small amount of Araldite adhesive to help support the connector.
I feel that this connector is far to delicate for the constant need to plug in the lead to recharge or connect to a pc

I just took my mio apart because I will have to replace the screen and I wanted to see how hard it would be. Unless the board has broken, you should be able snap the plug back in. You will have to open the mio to do this. They designed the mio so that the plug is easily replaceable. And so is the screen and battery.

You will need a very small philips head screw driver. I got a cheap set from an auto supply store.

Be sure and turn the mio off first using the switch in the back of the unit.

Good Luck
