Will a boiler sealer work on a leak on the top of my boiler?

I have a leak in the top of my boiler about the size of my little finger that they say was from rust. My oil people tell me I need a new boiler, but I have a plummer who say he can fix it with a boiler sealer. What do you think? It is a AMF oil-coal combo.
Thanks

Very possible your plumber may very well be able to correct the problem, I have fixed huge leaks even in side seams on a hot water boiler (oil fired)

Dont know much regarding oil, only work on nat gas. but having said that i would take the advice of the oil company rep, not some plumber, you could always check with the boiler manufacture.
