I have one that powers on then off I know the vcr part is bad how can you bypass it?

If the fuse is ok, then the problem is most likely in the power supply. I have found zener diode D615 to short. I have not verified a replacement part number yet, so I am not sure if that is all of the problem.

If the fuse is bad it is located right at the end of the power cord. 4 gold screws and 2 blck screws should get the back off. MAKE SURE IT IS UNPLUGGED!!! and do not touch the tube. small 125v 10amp fuse. But Syvania is know for the chip going bad no the fuse.

There is a fuse inside the TV. Unscrew the back of the TV. There are two screws on the top and two on the bottom. Pull the back of the TV off and you will see the fuse next top the Power Cord.
If the fuse is NOT burnt then you will have a problem with the TV's VCR section. When turning on the TV does it power on THEN off???
