Red light blinking?

My sony trinitron stopped working, no picture, no sound, just the red standby light flashing twice about every three seconds. Any ideas to what may be the problem would be great.

Throw the television into recycling.

When an error occurs, the STANDBY/TIMER LED will flash a set number of times to indicate the possible cause of the problem.
2 times-Load on power line is shorted.
4 times-Vertical deflection pulse is stopped.
5 times-CRT cathode current detection reference pulse output is small.
Can it be fixed? Yes
Is it worth getting repaired? Maybe not
Depending how old the Television is.. 2-3years yes
older than 5years No best to get a new one.
Could cost anywhere from $25 to $200 for just that repair.
