Removing a Corian Countertop?

'm trying to save some money on a counter top replacement. Home Depot charges $6. a square foot for removal so I want to tear off my Corian counter top that is 24' wide with a 15" overhang and 10 feet long. I don't care if I ruin it since Home Depot is replacing it with a granite top. I look underneath the counter top and I see it's on a sub board. If I just push up hard on it will this rip the screws out of the 8 inch wide island bar it's screwed into?

If the original installer was competent, the countertop should be held down with dabs of silicone. It will peel up if you start at an outside corner. Use pry bars to work it loose from the sub board. You can put denatured alcohol in a spray bottle and spritz some underneath. That will help the silicone release. Driving wood shims underneath can also be helpful.
