My computer does not start up as normal

it states that i may have added some software or hardware recently which is not the case

it gives me a number of drop down options ie. of which i have tried all but still not working ie starting windows normally

i don't know what i might have done other than swching off computer without shutting down normally

is there any prcedure i can follow so as to get to the cause of the problem?

if you can get on the computer system restore but back up files you need before doing it

if you can access the computer try safemode
if safe mode fails try safe mode with cmd
at the cmd command prompt type explorer.exe
then press enter
and your desktop will show click start
then click control panel
even if you did unplug the computer without
shutting it down it will still load as normall

You need to put a little more detail. Like what EXACTLY does it do at startup? What are the options that it give you.

BTW I suggest you put your updated question in Operating Systems. Windows isn't hardware.
