How can I fix my washing machine, Hitachi, SF-65PX?

When the load gets to the spinning stage, it fills up with water again and goes through the rinse cycle at least two or three times before spinning. Even if I select just the spin cycle and nothing else it rinses the whole load a few times first. Apart from being a huge waste of water and electricity, the loads take twice as long as they should.

Same problem. I think the problem is the spin cycle should start at a slow speed. It seems the motor is connecting at full speed without a speed up period. I can put the spin cycle on "gentle" and it seems to spin but of course clothes arent as dry. Somethings out of whack in the clutch mechansism

We have same model, same problem exactly. I believe it is because the 4 dampers around the springs which suspend the bowl are worn out. This means that the bowl very easily trips the out of balance mechanism which then starts the process of adding water, then a brief agitate to reposition clothes, then re-start spin. We also have a chopped out bush in our agitator so I may have to scap an otherwise perfectly good machine if I can't find an agitator.
