Worcester Oil Boiler Fan Motor Will Not Run?

Our old Worcester boiler locked out at the weekend and will not restart. What i have found is the fan motor will not run when bolted into the burner,if removed and sat on the floor or held in my hand it will start every time. I have checked the fuel pump and can find nothing wrong there, the fuel pump can be rotated freely by hand with very light resistance.
I suspect the capacitor on the motor, any thoughts?

Change the capacitor (for all the cost of it).

If that doesn't work it can only be the motor, as long as you're sure the pump is OK.

Oil pumps are prone to go faulty more than motors. Make absolutely sure you are only turning the shaft of the pump the correct way. Danfoss BFP ??L3 or R3. The "L" denotes the shaft turns anticlockwise and the "R" denotes that the shaft turns clockwise. Make sure there are absolutely no sticking or dry parts when you turn the shaft.

Hope some of this helps
