How to remove/replace the element of Electra 1000 Washing machine?

We can remove front of machine and seal around drum, giving access to element. How is element fixed? How to remove and replace it?

The element is simply a push-fit into the thin, plastic, front cover of the drum assembly and is unsecured. It took some effort to remove the old element, disturbing the sealing compound between the plastic front and the metal drum-casing and causing the machine to leak. The manufacturer has shown an impressive talent for economy in both the design and the specification for the materials used in this critical section of the machine. If we can re-seal the thin plastic front to the drum-housing, it should be OK.

As far as I know Electra like creda are just a brand made by Hotpoint for electriclity board shops in in the UK. Removal of the heater is like that of a hotpoint machine, once the front has been removed, there is a bolt in the middle of the heater fixing, simply slacken this fully and prize it out with a screwdriver.
