Epson R360. Printer error. Please see your documentation?

I have an Epson R360 and attempted to print a cd. As I put the tray in the printer didn't respond, when I looked at the screen the display was showing a message, " Printer Error. Please see your documentation" It advises to turn off and turn on again which I have done, several times. It was working directly before this as I had printed my daughters homework.

I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them to see if it would make any difference, but nothing. My printer just keeps telling me this message. When I power it up there is a lot of noise coming from inside the printer, the ink carriage is moving but not a great deal. Any help advice is appreciated.

Thank you, tried the above fixes and our printer is going again. Cheers,

I had this EXACT issue. Could not find an answer anywhere. I did get the printer working. I was able to stop the ink box where I could open the lid. I reset all the ink cartridges to make sure they were properly seated. I then soaked up some of the ink from the cleaning pad with paper towels. I shook the machine upside down (nothing came out), then wiped the bottom of the printer with a paper towel, cleaning the silver colored metal paper guide both on top and underneath. I made sure no paper towel scraps remained. I turned the machine off, then on. Problem was gone. Hope this helps - I know it isn't technical, but I too was at my wits end and about to toss the thing in the trash!

Here, there was definitely no foreign object inside the printer.

However, turning it on with the lid lifted, I could see that during the initial test phase it was unsuccessfully trying to move the print-head carriage. Gently helping out with a careful push by hand got it moving again, and the printer was happy thereafter.

I also had the same problem, unpluged and plugged the device so many times but no result, customer support adviced i should bring it in for repar which would cost (65.5€) outside warranty.

I had to follow the post here, opened the ink room and realised there are foreign bodies in there, after thorough cleaning, printer works like new :)

Take out the ink cartridges, disconnect the printer, turn upside down and vigorously shake the unit. If your lucky bits will fall out, in mine was a drawing pin (thumb tack to Americans) a piece of plastic and an old necklace.

Printer works fine now.

You have nothing to lose as you can buy a replacement printer cheaper than calling some one out to repair it.

Don't forget to put the cartridges back in.

I had this problem, took the printer to the service centre and it worked fine there. 2 weeks out of warranty and the problem is back. It is saying there is a foreign object in the printer, there is not.

Going to email Epson and see what they say.

Ive got this banging sound as well like the heads banging against the side of the printer... Ive turned it off at the wall for a couple of hours and the same problem still occurs... this printer is only 28 days old as well...

These errors can often be fixed by turning the printer off at the wall for a few minutes.
