Hotpoint dishwasher - flashing lights - fast & delicates?

I have the fast and delicates lights flashing on the machine and it stops working - any ideas of what could be wrong. FDW60 about 2 years old.

SORRY ABOUT THE EARLIER ENTRY - I GOT THE LIGHTS WRONG ON THAT ONE.
