my new dvd225 matsui when turn on is just blinking?

the red indicator is just blinking on the dvd and will not respond to the remote

I also have this problem. Did you find a fix? I looked inside and there was discolouration on the high voltage circuit board near the transformer where the power comes in. I guess it is a short circuit or something.
