why wont my bathroom lights work?

lights in the bathroom are around 10 small halogen/spot light types recessed in the ceiling. they have stopped working. there are three black transformer units in the loft which all the cabling from the lights run to. i have inspected the fittings and bulbs and all seems to be fine.

can anyone suggest what the issue might be and if there is anything i can do without needing to call an electrician?

Sounds like you've found the problem, isolate the circuit(switch off at mains) and reconnect

good luck

Hi Paul.Sounds like this cable is a red + earth which could be the switch wire,if so it requires connecting to the red/brown cables that go to the transformers.

an addition.. i have found a cable that isnt attached to anything near the terminal block. it is a grey flat cable with two inner cables: a red sheathed one and a bare copper one. it looks like it might have been connected to the terminal block which has the wires that lead off to the light fittings in the bathroom.. (not very scientific i know.. sorry!) its possible that it might have been pulled out as around the time the lights stopped working i was moving some boxes/storage around up in the loft. any suggestions?
